Food Security and Livelihoods

ROAD’s Food Security and Livelihoods program aims to enhance household resilience by improving access to food and sustainable income sources. Through interventions such as climate-smart agriculture, vocational training, livestock support, and income-generating initiatives, ROAD empowers communities to recover from shocks and build long-term food and economic security. The goal is to reduce dependency, strengthen self-reliance, and promote dignity through sustainable livelihoods.

Goals

  1. To enhance access to adequate and nutritious food for vulnerable populations in areas of operation.
  2. To strengthen the communities’ capacities for drought-resistant livestock and crop production farming.

Objectives

  1. To support vulnerable communities in increasing agricultural productivity, including improving crop yields and enhancing crop diversification.
  2. To enhance food and nutrition security of vulnerable communities by providing relief food and promoting productive, climate resilient, and nutritional sensitive production strategies.
  3. To improve value addition for crop and animal produce.
