In 2015, ROAD implemented the Milk Value Chain Project in Hargeisa, Somaliland, with a strong focus on women’s economic empowerment. The project supported women’s active participation in various stages of the dairy value chain — from production and processing to marketing. By equipping them with skills, tools, and access to markets, the initiative enhanced household incomes and boosted women’s roles in the local dairy economy, promoting both livelihoods and gender inclusion.
